I was at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival over the August bank holiday weekend, remembering an emotional farewell gig for Oysterband and reflecting on a huge year of change.

Walking around the site watching other people perform, I knew why I had to continue.

So this year, Ray, Al and I have been out there, filling venues and festival stages with just the three of us.

Three voices, many different instruments and lots of great songs. It sounds good and most of all we are loving it.

This year has been a real voyage of discovery and next year is already building up to be even bigger.

In January 2027 we will release our first album, titled ‘Who Writes The Story’. And we tour Denmark in January and the UK in March. Details to follow.

But right now, we have to get ready for our first tour of Germany then Austria and Italy. Starting near Hamburg and going all the way south through Europe to the north of Italy.

If you love standing shows in great venues then Germany is for you.

If you like spectacular scenery and intimate venues then Austria is beautiful in October – and then there is Italy.

If there are any travelling heroes out there, come and join the travelling trio on tour, you are welcome and I will be at the merch desk every night. ‘Don’t be afraid’.
