John, Ray, Al - The Song Goes On

Here are the first three songs of many that John, Ray and Al have been working on. They are really looking forward to playing them live.

Hear the tracks and watch the video on YouTube.

JJ writes:

Over The Water: a song from the Meet You There recording sessions that I wrote with Alan P. It was recently featured on Rick Steins Cornwall TV programme. Its more gentle rolling acoustic feel seemed perfect for the trio. It’s time for Ray to feature the thumb-piano again and somehow play the cello as well!

Drunkard’s Waltz:  a song written by good friend Rev Hammer. The recording is one of the most popular Oyster songs on Spotify, especially around St Patrick’s Night. Something about Drinking, Dancing and Romance … what is that? It’s a great title and never played live so it’s time to change that.

She Wrote Her Name Today: I heard this on a Radio 4 programme and it just leapt out at me. Parents being shown their daughter’s name on a pad in hospital is not the usual stuff of songs but it seemed to me it was about life emerging again. We played it every night on our Rambling Tours and it just became a celebration. Maybe we are all trying to ‘write our name’ at some time.

More to come. JJ “

All songs mixed and produced by Al Scott.
