Denmark February and March 2026

Map of the tour venues

19 February

I am listening and singing along to the recordings of our rehearsals last week in Brighton! What a great few days, intense as it should be but a lot of fun. The Metway is a great studio to work in and somehow always brings out the best in us.

There’s a warmth in the harmonies and a balance in the instruments I really love. There is a shared history between the three of us but yet this feels new and exciting.

Next week we travel to Denmark and the real test begins.

I can’t wait to get back on the stage , it’s been six months and I am ready. JJ

25 February

Just been rehearsing in Ribe, Denmark. The first ever show is tomorrow.

Here is the first shirt, image taken from a photo by Kerstin Maier, all spring dates on the back, available only at gigs

Our second night is another sold out show, this time in the far west of Denmark , in the wild and beautiful Waddensea. Slusen Hojer is a small but remarkable venue with great food and lovely people. What a find!

Good to see Jacob Dinesen in the audience. @JacobDinesenBand @slusenhoejer A tribute indeed .

It’s a long time since we played GIMLE in Roskilde and wonderful that the audience is still there for us, and in great voice. The trio set continues to evolve. Last night featured Just One Life, Over The Water and Drunkards Waltz. It’s fascinating to explore such a rich back catalogue and my own and Ray’s songs and arrange them for now.

Each night is different . Let us know which songs you would like to hear, you never know.

.. and so , off to Aalborg for a night off

On stage at GIMLE in Roskilde

Back in Aalborg and JJ insisted on a return visit to the famous Street Of A Thousand Bars. Every house is a pub.

Sound checking with the ever patient Remi; the calm before the storm. @skraaeninordkraft

Great to be back at Skråen in Aalborg last night. Thanks to you all for coming. It felt powerful yet intimate and friendly on that big stage.

Thanks as ever to Karin, Remi and the wonderful crew. See you in Skagen!

PS. I did not make the Street of a Thousand Bars!

4 March

Thanks Halkær . My first time there with the trio and it was a great night. Oysterband were the first act to play there in 1992 and since then it has developed so much; now brewery, restaurant , concert hall and with stunning landscape around.

I walked part of the way there along a quiet road on a cold clear beautiful day, a blessed relief from the tension of travel . Al , Ray and I were on form last night and so were you.

Thanks for having us there JJ

Big thanks to everyone at a sold-out  Pakhuset, Ribe. A new venue for us,  renovated from an old warehouse and, packed with people, it has a great atmosphere. Thanks  to Lise and the whole team for looking after us.

The music and harmonies continue to evolve and strengthen and the set takes shape. JJ

7 March

And so to the last night of our danish tour. Following a great night with a big audience in Lunden Silkeborg, a beautiful venue by one of the lakes, we are now in Foderstoffe and Ringe on the island of Fuen. The set has new songs again. It’s been an incredible first journey for the trio, musically and socially, so to all our Danish fans who have been there for us we humbly thank you.

John, Ray and Al.
