She Wrote Her Name Today

“ Today we release our first song to all the major music streaming channels. It is ’She Wrote Her Name Today’ and is also on the @jonescooperscott YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/8iRdCCXObRY

Songs start in so many different ways. This one was a chance hearing of a radio programme when this phrase “she wrote her name today” just leapt out at me. A couple were keeping vigil at their daughter’s hospital bed and came in one morning to be met by a nurse and doctor, holding up the pad that hung from the bedside and saying , “She Wrote her Name Today”.

It just seemed like such an amazing sign of life re-emerging in the darkest of times. I imagined a back-story and wrote it quickly and each time we played it live the song just became more and more celebratory.

Maybe we are all trying to “write our name” at different times and in different ways in our life.
